Opcenter

Manufacturing operations management — make the shop floor visible

A unified MOM portfolio: execution, quality, advanced scheduling and warehousing, connecting planning systems to equipment.

Overview

Opcenter is the Siemens manufacturing operations management portfolio, spanning MES execution, QMS quality, APS advanced planning and scheduling, WMS warehousing and R&D laboratory management. It connects ERP production plans with equipment-level data, turning plans into executable, traceable work instructions.

Integration with PLM is its key advantage. BOMs and process plans from engineering become the basis for shop-floor instructions, and engineering changes propagate quickly — eliminating the classic failure where the drawing moved on but the line did not.

Key capabilities

Key capabilities

Execution (MES)

Order release, operation reporting, material traceability and WIP management.

Quality (QMS)

Incoming and in-process inspection, SPC and non-conformance handling.

Scheduling (APS)

Constraint-based optimisation balancing due dates, capacity and changeover cost.

Logistics (WMS)

Bin management, lot traceability and kitting error-proofing.

PLM integration

Teamcenter connectivity so BOM and process changes sync to the shop floor.

Analytics

Live dashboards, OEE and exception alerting for continuous improvement.

What it delivers

What it delivers

  • End-to-end traceability — drill quality issues down to lot and operation
  • Planning and execution connected — less expediting, fewer late deliveries
  • Engineering changes sync automatically; no stale revisions on the line
  • SPC and alerts move quality from end-of-line inspection to in-process control
  • PLM and ERP integration closes the loop from engineering to manufacturing
