Capital

Electrical and electronic systems engineering at vehicle scale

Capital covers E/E system architecture, network communications, harness design and embedded software development — a de facto standard in automotive harness and electrical architecture work.

Overview

Modern vehicle electrical complexity has outgrown manual management. A premium car harness can contain thousands of wires and tens of thousands of connections, multiplied across dozens of build configurations. Capital provides system-level management at that scale: from vehicle-level electrical architecture, through network bus design, to harness topology and wire sizing, ending in production data.

Its real strength is configuration management. Variants of the same model share one data set, with rules generating each build automatically instead of redrawing every configuration. That is why OEMs and large harness suppliers standardise on it.

Key capabilities

Key capabilities

E/E architecture design

Vehicle or machine-level architecture definition, function allocation and system verification.

Harness engineering

Full harness capability from topology through wire sizing, fusing and connectors.

Network design

CAN, LIN, Ethernet and other bus design with signal routing.

Embedded software support

Interfaces to AUTOSAR-aligned software architecture and code generation.

Configuration and variant management

Rule-driven generation of product variants, eliminating duplicate design work.

Cost and weight optimisation

Estimation and optimisation of harness length, weight and cost — a direct hit on material spend.

What it delivers

What it delivers

  • Harness work moves from drawing to engineering calculation, with justified wire gauges and fusing
  • Variants generated automatically, so facelifts no longer start from scratch
  • Electrical concepts validated at architecture stage, moving problems upstream
  • Harness weight and cost become quantifiable and reducible per vehicle
  • Teamcenter integration brings it into the vehicle PLM landscape
