Overview

For many smaller manufacturers the 3D design problem is not affording the software — it is managing the data. Drawings sit on individual laptops, versions are distinguished by filename, and knowledge walks out the door when someone leaves. Solid Edge X is built for cloud collaboration from the ground up: data is central, versions are recorded automatically, and sharing happens through a link rather than an attachment.

Nothing is stripped out. Synchronous technology, sheet metal, welding, assemblies, drafting, simulation and CAM are all there. The difference is you do not have to build a file server, run backups, or schedule an annual upgrade window.
